The IAF describes mission as the task to teach ordinary citizens to build broad-based organizations to fill the vacuum left by the deterioration of the mediating institutions of their communities- families, neighborhoods, congregations, local unions, local political parties, neighborhood schools, and other civic associations.
IAF stresses its approach to understanding and valuing innovation alongside constant re-organizing as reasoning for organizational success.
