The Northland Foundation’s Maada’ookiing program provides grants of up to $5,000 to Native American individuals and groups for projects that strengthen culture and community across the region. Guided by a Native-led advisory board and rooted in traditions of reciprocity, Maada’ookiing (Ojibwemowin for “the distribution”) is designed to support Native-led community building with respect for ancestral homelands, cultural knowledge, and creative solutions. The program reflects the Foundation’s commitment to sharing resources in ways that honor Indigenous leadership and resilience—an approach that aligns closely with Aspen CSG’s belief that lasting rural prosperity emerges when resources are directed by the communities themselves.
