COUNTY GOVERNANCE PROJECT

The County Governance Project from the National Association of Counties (NACo) offers a comprehensive guide to county government structure, authority, services, and finances. Through state profiles, national datasets, maps, and tools, the project helps policymakers, practitioners, and the public understand the critical role counties play in delivering services, shaping development, and managing resources. By making county data accessible and actionable, NACo supports stronger governance and more informed decision-making at the local level. Similar to how the Aspen Institute Community Strategies Group (CSG) equips rural leaders with frameworks to strengthen community well-being, the County Governance Project empowers counties with knowledge and resources to better serve their residents and shape resilient futures.
