WHAT IS COLLECTIVE IMPACT?

This page introduces the Collective Impact framework—a structured approach to social change that brings community members, organizations, and institutions together to advance equity and achieve systems-level outcomes. Collective impact initiatives are guided by five core conditions: a common agenda, shared measurement, mutually reinforcing activities, continuous communication, and a strong backbone organization. Equity practices are woven throughout, emphasizing data-driven solutions, systems change, power sharing, community voice, and accountability. As an initiative of FSG and the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, the Collective Impact Forum’s framework closely complements Aspen CSG’s focus on Rural Development Hubs, where equity-centered collaboration and aligned action drive lasting rural prosperity.
