Through programs like the Coal Communities Get Ready! Challenge and the Local Economy Lab, JTF supports projects at different stages of development—from early planning to large-scale implementation—while also helping organizations access federal, private, and philanthropic capital. Their flexible support not only fuels economic transition but also builds long-term organizational capacity in places experiencing significant economic distress. In parallel, the Aspen Institute Community Strategies Group (CSG) works to ensure that such transition efforts are rooted in equity, collaboration, and community-driven strategies, linking local innovation with broader systems change.
