Rural Welcoming Initiative (RWI), led by Welcoming America, provides rural communities with coaching, peer learning, and technical support to strengthen immigrant inclusion and belonging. Participants receive complimentary membership in the Welcoming Network, stipends to host Welcoming Week events, and support to attend the annual Welcoming Interactive conference. By aligning local policies with the Welcoming Standard, rural towns build stronger partnerships, revitalize local economies, and create places where newcomers and long-time residents thrive together. This connects with Aspen CSG’s priorities by showing how intentional inclusion strategies can fuel rural vitality—ensuring newcomers help sustain community life while rural places expand opportunity for all.
